Ruse is the fifth largest city in Bulgaria. It is in the northeastern part of the country. It's on the river Danube. It's beautiful with its architecture and parks. There are lots of monuments and there are some interesting museums. " Vasil Levski ", a school in Ruse, is the biggest school on the Balkan peninsula.
Places to visit
Ruse, there are many places that you can visit if you like beautiful nature you can visit Danube River and Forest Park Lipnik. The Danube springs from Germany, then flows trough Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and Ukraine. Lipnik Forest Park is very beautiful. It is located 16 km from Ruse. If you like history and museums you can visit the Museum of History, the National Museum of Transport and Communication and the Pantheon. The Pantheon is dedicated to the heroes of the 19 th century. There are buried 453 indepentists that died flight for their freedom. If you like nightlife and big parties you can visit a nightclub like Oppium or Showroom. The clubs in Ruse are with great music where you can dance till dawn.
Museums-Churches
There are many museums in Ruse. One of the most popular is The Tomb of Revivalists (The Pantheon). It is a national memorial where the bones of 453 heroes from the Revival period are buried. It was built in 1978. There are other museums like "Urban lifestyle of Ruse" museum, "National transport museum", Ruse Historical Museum, "Tonka Obretenova" museum and etc. There are a lot of churches. The most famous are Church of the Holy Trinity, Church of the Holy Theotokos, Church St. George, Church of Holy Archangel Michael and Church of the Holy Ascension. It is worth visiting all these places!
What is special about our hometown
Ruse is a big city in Bulgaria. Its population is about 148 350 people. It has an interesting culture and holidays. Ruse’s often called " The little Vienna" for it’s beautiful architecture. Ruse’s the first town with a harbour which helped us to go abroad. Also there was the first railway service Ruse - Varna . The first projection was held in Ruse. People who live here think that Ruse has many sights and it's very atractive for many tourists from all around the world.
Amusements-Outdoor activities
There are a lot of things to do in Ruse. You can visit the malls, watch a movie in the cinema or play bowling in the bowling alley and there are some good cafes. Also there are many clubs and discos in the centre of the town. If you like being outside you can go jogging or fishing. There are two tennis courts in the park for tennis lovers.
Nearby resorts
The nearest popular and most visited resort is Varna, but it's 200 km away from Ruse. It's situated in the eastern part of Bulgaria, at the seaside, and is the third largest city.
Shopping and dining
Ruse offers a variety of shops and places for shopping. You can find excellent clothes shops, department stores and other. There are two big shopping centres - Mega Mall Ruse and Mall Ruse also known as ''Cinema City'' where you can have fun in the amusement arcade, shop or watch a film. There are famous food chains in Ruse like Kaufland, Carrefour, Billa and other. There are also some constructional supermarkets like Praktiker, Mr.Bricolage and technical supermarkets like Technopolis and Technomarket.
There are a lot of restaurants and taverns in Ruse, which offer a big variety of dishes and drinks. In the evening famous stars visit some of the bars and discotheques. Overall Ruse is a nice place where you can mix the useful shopping with the pleasureable eating.
Accommodation
There aren't many accommodations in our city but there are some nice hotels like the four-star hotel "Cosmopolitan" and the three-star hotel ''Riga".
The Statue of Liberty The Statue of Liberty was built at the beginning of the 20th century by the Italian sculptor Arnoldo Zocchi. As time went by, it gained significance as one of the city's symbols, and now forms a part of her coat of arms. By the way if you come to see our town you can also visit a lot of interesting places like monuments, restaurants, museums, shops and parks.
